Revitalizing AS
NeelyDrebinger is committed to glorifying God—making Him known. Our passion is to use AS to equip students to glorify God together at Biola, in our local community, and around the world.
NeelyDrebinger is committed to glorifying God—making Him known. Our passion is to use AS to equip students to glorify God together at Biola, in our local community, and around the world.
One of the ways that we seek to do this is through rethinking the structure and focus of AS.
First, with each new AS administration, there is a change in the vision statement. This leads to discontinuity within AS each year and hinders the organization from making lasting effective change. By instituting a lasting vision statement (one that only changes every 5-10 years as needed), AS leadership will be better prepared to equip you to make God known.
Second, NeelyDrebinger will better represent student voice in two ways. To start, they will update methods of receiving student feedback by conducting focus groups and expanding current avenues for student input. Secondly, they will restructure senate meetings to provide more time for special projects and refocus the duties of senators to include giving them opportunities to get to know their residents for more accurate representation.
Lastly, NeelyDrebinger will provide leadership training and development for their staff throughout the year so that the leaders will be better equipped to perform their jobs and benefit the student body in the quality of work they are able to produce.
By rethinking the function and focus of AS, NeelyDrebinger will strengthen student leadership and enable AS to institute effective change for you. AS will have a greater ability to represent student voice, to empower you to take initiative, and to provide you with the opportunities to use your God-given abilities to make God known through events, dorms, and majors.

Reaching the Community
NeelyDrebinger is committed to glorifying God—making Him known. Our passion is to use AS to equip students to glorify God together at Biola, in our local community, and around the world.
One of the ways that we seek to do this is through expanding the current Serve Day initiative and instituting other neighborhood outreach events. NeelyDrebinger believes that this is one of the tangible ways that Biolans can feasibly live out their faith while being fulltime students.
In order to enable Biola students to be better servants of their local community, NeelyDrebinger will increase the amount of Serve Days that are available. They will also offer chapel credit to individual students who participate and monetary support to clubs (and other student groups) who participate.
Under NeelyDrebinger, AS will partner with La Mirada government and local churches to find out where service is most needed in the community. These projects can then be handed off to individual students or students group to serve as they feel called.
Serve Days are a great way for you to make God known in our own backyard and to bless the community by being the hands of Christ.

Empowering CSA
NeelyDrebinger is committed to glorifying God—making Him known. Our passion is to use AS to equip students to glorify God together at Biola, in our local community, and around the world.
One of the ways that we seek to do this is through expanding the Coalition for Social Action to increase awareness of God’s work around the world and to offer opportunities for you to get involved.
A distinctive of Biola is its focus on equipping students to complete the great commission. NeelyDrebinger believes that one of the most effective ways Biola students can do this is through being aware of social justice causes. The Coalition for Social Action is a group that is designed to help students become aware of global issues and equip them to respond well as followers of Christ.
By increasing the monetary and administrative support of CSA, CSA will have the ability not only to host student awareness events, but to help students get involved by partnering with local advocacy groups and by giving students resources and support to begin their own social justice initiatives.
CSA will empower you to have a voice in social justice issues and be an advocate for those who cannot speak for themselves. You can have the opportunity to get involved in issues across the globe and to make God known through them, right here from Biola’s campus.
